Back in May, Xiaomi introduced three smartphones in the Mi 8-series – the Mi 8, Mi 8 SE and the Mi 8 Explorer Edition. Now, looks like, the company is gearing up to launch two more smartphones in the series called Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition. We have come across a leak earlier this week that highlighted the color and storage variants of the new smartphones. Now, the latest leak reveals its specifications.
Spotted on Weibo by PlayfulDroid, the Mi 8 Youth will come with a 6.26-inch display running at a resolution of 2280x1080pixels, a notch on top and aspect ratio of 19:9. Under the hood, the smartphone could be powered by a Snapdragon 710 SoC featuring an octa-core CPU, paired with 4GB / 6GB of RAM and 64GB / 128GB onboard storage.

In the photography department, a dual rear camera setup is expected, with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel or 5-megapixel secondary sensor. Up front, a 24-megapixel selfie snapper is expected, which is not surprising as the smartphone will be targeted towards the youth.
To keep things ticking, a 3,350mAh battery with support for Quick Charge 3.0 is expected. While there is no word on the operating system, it is likely to come with Android 8.1 Oreo update with MIUI custom interface on top.
As of now, there is no word on the launch date, but going by the rumors, the smartphone could be unveiled either on September 18 or September 19. In terms of pricing, the base variant is expected to set you back by RMB 1,999 (roughly Rs 21,000).
