It seems that Xiaomi isn’t done with its Mi 8 line-up yet. Having already launched Mi 8, Mi 8 SE, and Mi 8 Explorer Edition, the company was recently reported to be planning to add two more smartphones – Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition – to the series. Now, a new report has surfaced about yet another potential member of the Mi 8 line-up.
According to MySmartPrice, the Xiaomi Mi 8X (model identifier M1808D2TE) was recently listed on Chinese certification agency TENAA. According to the listing, the dual-SIM smartphone has a 6.26-inch screen (most likely with a notch) and is powered by a 3,250mAh battery. There are references to all standard connectivity options (e.g. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) being included, but no other details. There aren’t any images either.
Xiaomi Mi 8X may be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 SoC and have 3D face recognition-based unlock feature, like the Mi 8 has.

Quoting a source, a recent report by MySmartPrice claimed that Xiaomi will soon be launching two smartphones – Mi 8 Youth and Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition – in China. The ‘Youth’ version will be available in three configurations – 4GB RAM/64GB storage, 6GB RAM/64GB storage, and 6GB RAM/128GB storage. There will be three colour options available – Space Gray, Gold, and Blue.
As for the ‘Screen Fingerprint’ variant, it’ll be offered in two configurations – 6GB RAM/128GB storage and 8GB RAM/128GB storage. Two colour options will be offered – Black and Gold.
Interestingly, the two smartphones are similar to the already available Mi 8 SE and Mi 8 Explorer Edition. If they are indeed the base for the upcoming devices, the ‘Youth’ variant could be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, while the ‘Screen Fingerprint’ version, as its name suggests, will have an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
