Earlier this year, Xiaomi launched its first-ever Android One smartphone in India called Mi A1. Launched with Android 7.1.2 Nougat out-of-the-box, Xiaomi had promised that it will roll out Android 8.0 Oreo update for the smartphone by end of this year. The update is about 1.1GB in size, and includes December security patch too. Once the beta testing is complete, a wider rollout of the update is expected sometime in the coming weeks. The Android Oreo beta update brings features such as Background limits, adaptive icons, keyboard navigation, autofill, Audio API for Pro Audio, ability to snooze individual notifications, and Picture-in-Picture (PIP) feature. Xiaomi Mi A1 price, specifications and features
Xiaomi Mi A1 was launched in India for Rs 14,999, but recently got a permanent price cut of Rs 1,000, bringing its price down to Rs 13,999. Talking about specifications, the smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB internal storage, which can further be expanded using a microSD card.
One of the highlights of the Mi A1 is the dual-camera setup at the back. It features two 12-megapixel sensors one is a wide-angle lens, and the other is a telephoto lens. Up front, there is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.
Armed with a 3,080mAh battery, the smartphone comes with connectivity options such as dual-SIM card slots, 4G with VoLTE, Bluetooth, GPS and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
