Last year, Xiaomi launched the Mi A1 smartphone in India under Google s Android One program. Shipped with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box, the company promised Android 8.0 Oreo update by the end of the year. True to its words, Xiaomi released the stable version of Android 8.0 Oreo update for the Mi A1 smartphone on December 31.

However, soon after the release, a lot of users started complaining about performance-related issues. Some of these issues included unresponsive camera and dialer app, battery drain when Bluetooth turned on, unresponsive ambient light sensor and recent app button to name a few. Taking user feedback seriously, Xiaomi acknowledged the issue, and has temporarily halted the rollout, AndroidHeadlines reports.

Spotted by FoneArena, Xiaomi has also posted a workaround for some issues. The MyJio app has been causing a significant delay in making a call, as per Mi Community admin. As a temporary fix, the company has asked users to uninstall the MyJio app, or disable the Telephone permission.

Xiaomi is not the only one, OnePlus had to pull down the Android Oreo-based OxygenOS 5.0 update for the OnePlus 5 due to inconsistent app crashes after installing the update. The company will be addressing the issues, and will release OxygenOS 5.0.1 with the relevant bug fixes.

The Mi A1 was launched in India for Rs 14,999, but after the recent permanent price cut, it is now available for Rs 13,999. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display, and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. Besides stock Android OS, another highlight of the Mi A1 is the dual cameras at the back 12-megapixel (wide-angle) lens and a 12-megapixel (telephoto) lens. Together they allow you to add DSLR-like bokeh effects to your selfies, and also click photos with 2X lossless zoom.
