Xiaomi has finally taken the wraps off its first dual-camera smartphone in India. The Mi A1 smartphone is priced at Rs 14,999. The smartphone will be available via both offline and online channels and will go on sale starting September 12 at 12:00PM. The smartphone will be up for grabs via Flipkart and mi.com for the online market. However, the smartphone will also be available at Mi Homes stores starting the same day. Xiaomi has also partnered offline retailers such as Poorvika, Sangeetha, BigC, Lot and My G to sell the Mi A1. The device will be available in two color variants black, and gold. Xiaomi has also announced that it has partnered with Airtel to offer up to 200GB of additional 4G data for all Airtel users buying the Mi A1. However, please note that the offer is only valid for Airtel users who buy the Xiaomi Mi A1 smartphone on September 12. The company announced that the phone will be in black and gold colors initially, and after a month Xiaomi promises to bring a rose gold color variant of the Mi A1 as well.
The dual-camera setup is the main USP of the phone. The phone comes with a 12-megapixel Telephoto lens + 12-megapixel wide angle lens that is similar to iPhone 7 Plus. Apart from that, stock Android Nougat is another USP of the phone. Xiaomi has partnered with Google s Android One project. Just like all other Android One phones, the Mi A1 runs stock Android, however, the company has promised an Android 8.0 Oreo update to the phone by the end of the year. The smartphone comes with a full-metal body with Corning Gorilla glass on top. It has a 5.5-inch full HD (1080p). Under the hood is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with Adreno 506 GPU, and 4GB of RAM. There is 64GB of storage on offer, which can be further expanded using a microSD card. Other features include a fingerprint sensor at the back, 3,080mAh battery, and connectivity options like dual-SIM card slots (hybrid setup), 4G VoLTE support, 3.5mm audio jack, and a USB Type-C port. The smartphone also offers high-quality audio backed by DHS Audio Calibration Algorithm and a standalone audio amplifier on board.
