Jon Gold, Global Director of Android Partner Programs revealed that the smartphone will get Android 8.0 Oreo update by the year end. He, however, didn t provide an exact timeframe for the rollout. The new update will bring a host of new features to the smartphone. Some of the features include Picture-in-Picture mode, Notification Dots, Android Instant Apps, Google Play Protect, among others.

Apart from these features, Android Oreo also promises to minimize background activity in the apps, better connectivity, and a longer battery life. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is made of a full-metal body with rounded edges. Another major highlight of the phone is its dual-rear camera on board. Talking about the camera resolution, the smartphone sports a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom support.
