A couple of months after the launch of the Xiaomi Mi A2 in India, the company has now listed a new variant of the phone on its online store. The 6GB RAM / 128GB internal storage variant of the Xiaomi Mi A2 has been listed on the product page for the Mi A2 on Mi.com/in, at Rs 19,999. In comparison, the 4GB RAM / 64GB internal storage option is currently priced at Rs 14,999, and is available through both the Mi India online store as well as through Amazon India.
While the 6GB variant hasn’t been listed on Amazon India just yet, it could come to the e-commerce platform soon enough. Apart from online, the Mi A2 can also be purchased offline through Xiaomi authorized retail stores, including Mi Home stores in various cities across the country. However, the Rs 19,999 price puts brings it close to the Xiaomi Poco F1, which starts at Rs 20,999. Although the base variant of that phone sports 64GB of storage, it does come with 6GB of RAM, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and notched screen with IR-enabled face unlock.
The Xiaomi Mi A2 is the company’s second phone to be a part of the Android One program, and therefore sports stock Android software. While the Android One program theoretically touts faster software updates, Xiaomi has been rather slow to issue updates. The Mi A2 is still waiting for its Android 9 Pie update, and currently runs on Android 8.1 Oreo.

While the phone does have a dual-camera setup at the rear, a high-resolution front camera and an 18:9 screen, the phone does sport a somewhat-dated design. Nonetheless, for the price, the phone sports capable hardware and software, with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC under the hood. However, while the 4GB / 64GB variant at its new price of Rs 14,999 seems like a good deal, the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage may not work as well at its Rs 19,999 price tag.
