While we’re quite certain that the Xiaomi Mi A2 will be launching on July 24 at an event in Madrid, Spain, rumors suggest that there could also be a Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite. The ‘Lite’ version is expected to feature lower-end specifications, but will keep with the USP of the range in offering stock Android out-of-the-box rather than Xiaomi‘s MIUI. However, a seller on AliExpress seems to have jumped the gun and listed the Mi A2 Lite a few days early.
The seller is offering the phone at $190 (approximately Rs 13,000) for the 3GB RAM/32GB storage version, while the 4GB RAM/64GB storage variant is listed at $210 (approximately Rs 14,400). The images show the phones being in line with the rumors and ideas that we have thus far, and also list some specifications.
The Mi A2 Lite is listed as being powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, which is the same as the one powering last year’s Mi A1. The chipset is admittedly old and not quite as performance driven as newer options, but it is known for its superior battery efficiency. There is also a dual-camera setup and fingerprint sensor visible at the rear, with the camera specifications listed as a 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel AI dual camera.

The operating system is listed as Android One (based on Android 8.1 Oreo), and the phone has a 5.84-inch full-HD+ notched screen. The higher-end Xiaomi Mi A2 is expected to come with largely the same specifications, but could feature a 12-megapixel + 12-megapixel dual-camera setup at the rear, and be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. Storage options on the higher-end phone could go up to 128GB, with RAM going up to 6GB.
