Xiaomi just announced its latest smartphones in the global market, the Xiaomi Mi A2, and the Mi A2 Lite at a launch event in Spain yesterday. The company confirmed that the Mi A2 is coming to India through a slide about markets where the smartphone will be arriving in coming weeks. Interestingly enough, the slide with availability details for the Mi A2 Lite did not include India as one of the markets where the device will come in the next few weeks. Xiaomi did not reveal any details about the Mi A2 when it came to the Indian market including the date of availability or pricing.
As revealed at the launch event, Mi A2 comes with a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The device runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset with an octa-core CPU along with three configurations when it comes to the RAM and internal storage. The base model of the A2 will come with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage, the middle variant will come with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the top end variant will come with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

The device will come with a dual-camera setup at the back with a 20-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.75 aperture, and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.75 aperture. Xiaomi has added AI smarts to the camera and claims that the camera can automatically detect a scene. The company has also packed a 20-megapixel sensor on the front with a LED flashlight and AI scene detection technology which is optimized to detect 12 self-portrait scenes.
Mi A2 features a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support and a USB Type-C port. Other features include a fingerprint scanner on the back, Bluetooth v5.0 and face unlock feature. One thing to note here is that the Mi A2 will not come with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Now, according to a new report by Gadgets360, it has been revealed that Xiaomi will not bring the Mi A2 variant with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage in the Indian market. Instead, the base mode of the Xiaomi Mi A2 will sport 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the company is still thinking if it will plan to launch the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage variant in the Indian market.
The report also pointed out that Xiaomi will launch one extra color variant for the Mi A2 in the Indian market. Xiaomi is also planning to launch the Mi A2 devices in India with support for Quick Charge 4.
