Xiaomi is expected to take the wraps off the much-rumored Mi A2 on July 25 at an event in Spain. As the name suggests, the Mi A2 will be the successor to last year’s Mi A1, and the rebranded version of the recently launched Mi 6X. The device has been on the rumor mills for quite sometime, and the latest leak allegedly reveals its variants and color options.
According to an image shared by MySmartPrice, the Xiaomi Mi A2 will be available in three color options of black, blue, and gold. For comparison sake, last year’s Mi A1 was launched in black, gold, red, and rose gold.
The leak further reveals that Xiaomi will launch four Mi A2 variants – 32GB with 4GB RAM, 64GB with 4GB RAM, 128GB with 4GB RAM, and lastly, 128GB with 6GB RAM. In comparison, the Mi A1 was only launched in one variant featuring 64GB storage, and 4GB of RAM.

As we inch closer to the launch date, the Mi A2 has been surfacing online with increased frequency. Recently, we have come across camera samples, as well as hands-on photos showing the device running stock Android 8.1 Oreo. Stock Android doesn’t come as a surprise since the Mi A2 will be a part of Google’s Android One initiative.

The Xiaomi Mi A2 will be the rebranded version of the Mi 6X, which was recently launched in China. As far as specifications are concerned, it will come with a 5.99-inch FHD+ display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, and the option to expand internal memory using a microSD card.
The smartphone will also feature a dual-camera setup (12-megapixel+20-megapixel) at the back, 20-megapixel selfie camera, 3,010mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, fingerprint sensor, and dual-SIM card slots.
