Xiaomi may be planning to launch the much anticipated Xiaomi Mi A2 in the market. The device was spotted on a Swiss website digittec.ch with most specification details posted along with the listing. According to the website, the Xiaomi Mi A2 is going on sale starting August 8th, 2018. The listing puts the 32GB storage variant for Mi A2 at 289 Euro, the 64GB variant is for about 329 EUR and the 128GB internal storage variant is for 369 Euro. Going over the description and the specifications posted on the website, it is likely that the listing on the website may have been copied from the specifications of the Mi 6X. The reason for this is that Xiaomi has not issued any official statement about any plans to launch the Mi A2 in the global market. The company launched the Mi 6X in the Chinese market back in April. To revisit the hardware of the Mi 6X, it came with a 5.99-inch full HD+ display panel with 18:9 aspect ratio. Though, despite the 18:9 aspect ratio, the device still comes with thick bezels on the top and bottom of the display. The 6X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. The company claimed that the 660 SoC offers 20 percent better performance compared to the Snapdragon 636 SoC, and 79 percent better performance compared to the Snapdragon 625 SoC. Xiaomi has also added a dual camera setup on the back of the device with a 20-megapixel sensor with f/1.75 aperture and a second 12-megapixel resolution lens with Sony IMX486 sensor with f/1.75 aperture. The second camera sensor comes with a telephoto lens which enables 2X lossless optical zoom and DSLR-like bokeh effects to your photos. Users will also get a 20-megapixel camera on the front of Mi 6X with Sony IMX376.
The company has also added a 3,010 mAh battery along with Quick Charge 3.0 support. It claims that an 18W charger will charge the Xiaomi Mi 6X from empty state to 50 percent in 30 minutes. In addition to a fingerprint sensor at the back, the Mi 6X also supports AI face unlock feature. In the software department, the smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9.5 skin on top. The company has already started working on the Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 10. Comparing the specifications of the announcement and the listing, there is no difference, making us believe that the listing may have been copied from the announcement.
