Xiaomi seems to have been quietly working on the successor to the popular Mi Band. Dubbed the Mi Band 1S, the wearable looks quite similar at first glance, albeit with one big difference. The Mi Band 1S was spotted on Taiwanese National Communications Commission (via GSMArena), and will now boast a heart rate monitor. Besides this one big change, the photos show that the wearable looks identical to its predecessor. In fact the top with the aluminum cap is the same and features the three LED lights. The heart rate monitor is located at the bottom and will be in constant contact with your skin. With the design remaining same, you will mostly be able to use the Mi Band straps that you already own.
This isn t the first time we have come across rumors about a Mi Band successor. The last leak showed a wearable with a touchscreen display, but it turned out to be a different device altogether. From the looks of it the latest leak seems genuine, though we will advise you to take it with the proverbial pinch of salt nonetheless.
Xiaomi launched the Mi Band in India in April alongside the global launch of the Mi 4i. It is priced at Rs 999 and is available via the company s website during weekly flash sales. Last month, the company revealed that it had sold over 6 million Mi Bands worldwide.
