The last day of the week ends with some very important news stories. To begin with, the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ went up on sale in India today, with the latter’s 256GB variant exclusively available at Reliance Jio’s offline and online stores. Today, Xiaomi also launched its Mi Exchange offer on mi.com, and Samsung cut the price for the Galaxy A8+ smartphone. Taking on Jio, Vodafone India rolled out a new Rs 21 plan. Xiaomi Mi Exchange offer
First launched in November 2017, the program was till now only available at Mi Home stories. Now, the trade program has been made available on Xiaomi’s websites as well. The trade-in program allows customers to exchange their old smartphones for a new Mi device. Under the Mi Exchange program, consumers will get an instant exchange coupon which they can use to buy a new Xiaomi smartphone on its website.
Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+ go on sale
Samsung Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ officially went up on sale today. The devices are available on Flipkart, Samsung’s online store and at select local retail outlets. The Galaxy S9 is priced at Rs 57,900 for 64GB storage variant, and Rs 65,900 for the 256GB storage variant. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 64,900 for the 64GB storage variant, and Rs 72,900 for the 256GB storage variant. Color options in the phones include Midnight Black, Coral Blue and Lilac Purple color options.
Additionally, the Galaxy S9+ 256GB variant is exclusively available at Reliance Digital, Jio stores and jio.com. The Reliance stores are offering a bunch of buyback and cashback offer, along with convenient EMI options.
Samsung Galaxy A8+ price slash
Samsung announced a price cut on the Galaxy A8+ (2018), and bringing the cost down to Rs 30,990. The smartphone is exclusively available on Amazon India. The upgrade Galaxy A-series smartphone was launched in India in January this year, with the highlight of the device being its front dual-camera setup.
Vodafone Rs 21 plan
Taking on Reliance Jio, Vodafone has rolled out a new plan priced at Rs 21 that offers truly unlimited 3G/4G with a validity of one day. However, the unlimited data is limited to an hour after you recharge. The plan competes against Reliance Jio’s Rs 19 plan.
Spotify to debut in India
Spotify is reportedly ready to make its India debut shortly. Confirmed by CEO Daniel Ek, Spotify plan to launch its services in India, Russia, and Africa soon.
Just earlier this week, Spotify made its debut in four new markets, which include Israel, Romania, South Africa and Vietnam.
