Xiaomi has just released a new version of its Mi Fit app that is used to manage its Mi Band wearable devices, Body Composition Scale, Smart Shoes, and Amazfit smartwatches. According to the changelog, this update comes with a new feature addition for Xiaomi’s latest wearable in its Mi Band series, the Mi Band 3. This new feature is known as “Night Mode” where Mi Band 3 will automatically change its brightness after sunrise and sunset. The changelog also pointed out that users can also manually set the time according to their preference while adding “other improvements”.

The update brings the version number of the Mi Fit app to 3.4.6. This new feature is likely to improve the battery backup of the Mi Band 3 by ensuring that its OLED display uses less power in the situation where the user may not require maximum brightness. Once the firmware and resources of the Mi Band 3 were automatically updated, we dug into the settings of our Mi Band 3 on the latest Mi Fit app to check for changes and found a new option of “Night mode” below existing “Find phone ringtones”, and “Band screen lock” options.

Diving in the new option, the app presents us with three settings, the “Night mode” time, “Start time”, and “End time”. The first “Night mode” time option presents us with three options, to “Turn off” the mode, “Turn on after sunset”, and “Schedule turn on time”.

The third option allows users to change the “Start time”, and “End time” for the setting according to their preference.
