Xiaomi may be primarily known for its value-for-money smartphones, but the Chinese technology major has quite a diverse product portfolio. Having begun in India with smartphones, the company now sells everything from fitness trackers to suitcases in the country. And, if things go well, that product range could soon expand to include laptops too.
Talking to Digit, Xiaomi’s global VP and Xiaomi India’s MD Manu Kumar Jain said that in 2019, the company will try to bring more of its gadgets to India, including its Mi Gaming Laptop. As per Digit, Jain said that Xiaomi gathers feedback from users who try out the company’s products (that are not yet available in India) in its Mi Home retail stores, and if enough users put in a request regarding an unavailable product, it may consider bringing that to the country.
Launched earlier this year, the Mi Gaming Laptop is powered by Intel’s Core-i7 (seventh-generation) CPU, paired with 16GB of RAM. It also comes with Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 GPU for handling graphics. Among other features of the 15.6-inch gaming laptop are Dolby sound, and a total of ten I/O ports.
It’s worth mentioning that Xiaomi recently opened a new Mi Home brand store in the prominent Indiranagar area of Bengaluru city. Spanning a total area of 6,000 sq ft, the store is Xiaomi’s biggest in India.

Even this year, Xiaomi has focused its efforts on bringing its other products to India. Two months ago, the company launched the Mi Band 3 fitness tracker, a new range of Mi TVs, the Mi Home Security Camera 360, and Mi Air Purifier 2S in the country. In addition, it introduced the Mi Luggage suitcases as well, which are available in 20-inch and 24-inch sizes.
