In what is as close to a confirmation as possible at this moment, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has revealed a time frame for the launch of the Mi Max 3. Responding to a query on Weibo, Jun said that the Mi Max 3 will be launching in July this year, Gizmochina reports. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 rumored specifications, features
The Mi Max 3 is expected to flaunt a 7-inch full HD+ display, and could be launched in two variants. The base model is likely to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 SoC paired with 3GB of RAM, and 64GB storage. The top model, on the other hand, is expected to feature Qualcomm s Snapdragon 660 Soc paired with 4GB of RAM, and 128GB internal storage.
Besides the display, one of the highlights will no doubt be a large battery underneath. Reports hint at a massive 5,500mAh unit with support for Quick Charge 3.0, as well as Qi wireless charging. For photography, the phablet is expected to come with dual cameras at the back. Interestingly, recent leaks claim there won t be a 3.5mm audio jack on board the Mi Max 3. On the software front, the phablet will run Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box.
While the Mi Max 3 is only expected to come in July, Xiaomi is gearing up to host a massive annual event in China towards the end of this month. At this event, the company is reportedly set to launch the flagship Mi 7 smartphone, an 8th anniversary edition device dubbed Mi 8, and the Mi Band 3 fitness band.
