Xiaomi has launched its latest entry in the Mi Max series in China a little earlier in the day than expected according to a post on Weibo. We have already had an extensive look at what the phone could be like prior to the launch itself, courtesy the numerous leaks and rumors. Even Xiaomi founder Bin Lin indulged the expectant crowd with a look of the phone on Weibo. The phone has now been showcased in China and comes with a 6.9-inch (2160 x 1080 pixels) Full HD+ display that has a ratio of 18:9 and an IPS panel. The phone has a metal back panel and is topped by a 2.5D curved glass with 1500:1 contrast ratio, 84% NTSC color gamut. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 has a 4GB LPDDR4x RAM along with 64GB (eMMC 5.1) internal storage. The device runs MIUI based on Android 8.1 Oreo and has a Hybrid dual-SIM tray that can either fit a SIM card and either a SIM card or an SD card. The battery on the phone is of 5500mAh capacity and comes with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging, along with parallel charging.
Coming to the optics on the device, the Mi Max 3 has a dual-rear camera setup of 12 + 5 megapixel setup. The primary rear camera comes with a Sony IMX363 sensor accompanied by an LED flash. The lens has a aperture of f/1.9 and the sensor has 1.4 m pixel size and has Dual PD focus. The front camera has a 8 megapixel sensor with a soft LED flash, 1.12 m pixel size, f/2.0 aperture. The cameras on the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 comes with AI features that can detect 206 scenes and has an AI voice assistant. The front-facing camera comes with support for face unlock.
As for the sensors, it comes with the usual works for Xiaomi, that is the Fingerprint sensor which is positioned at the rear center and an infrared sensor. For connectivity it has dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C.

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is available in Meteorite Black, Dream Gold and Dark Blue colors and is priced at 1,699 Yuan (Rs 17,320 approximately) for the 4GB RAM with 64GB storage variant and 1,999 yuan (Rs 20,375 approximately) for the 6GB RAM with 128GB storage variant. The smartphone will be available in China starting from July 20th. As for India the smartphone is expected to launch in the month of October.
