While the rumors about Xiaomi’s Mi Max 3 are still going strong over the web, it’s the first time that something has been shared by the company officials itself. On Monday, Xiaomi’s founder and CEO Lei Jun posted an image of the upcoming Xiaomi Mi Max 3’s retail box with a message on Weibo first, which was later posted by the company’s spokesperson Donovan Sung on Twitter as well.
The styling of Xiaomi Mi Max 3 retail box pack is much similar to what we have already seen with current generation Xiaomi smartphones. On the front, it prints the big Max 3 moniker towards the left bottom corner with MI branding up top in the right corner.
There were rumors of the big screen smartphone launching on July 3, but considering Sung’s Twitter post message, it seems that they are getting closer to the launch but there’s still some time, and we are anticipating it to be later this month.
Sung wrote in his tweet, “Kicking off Monday by discussing the upcoming #MiMAX3 launch. Many users have asked us to launch this product as soon as possible. What are your favorite features of Mi Max? Let us know in the comments!”
Previously, we have seen a leak suggesting the pricing of Mi Max 3, which was spotted on Xiaomi’s official website. Although the page was taken down.
The alleged pricing of Mi Max 3 is tipped to be RMB 1,699 (approximately Rs 17,700) for the 6GB RAM variant. It is expected to come in a 64GB+4GB model as well, and expected to be priced lower. The page had also showed what the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 will look like, and it is in line with the leaks we have seen in the past. The front is seen to be dominated by the tall display, while at the back are the dual-camera module, fingerprint sensor, Mi logo, and the antenna lines.
Based on what we have come across so far, the Mi Max 3 is expected to feature a 6.9-inch FHD+ IPS LCD display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is likely to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset. The internal storage can be expanded using a microSD card.
As far as the specifications are concerned, there are two sets of rumor going around for the processor. The phablet smartphone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor and then it is also expected to have a “Pro” variant with a more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 AIE octa-core processor and up to 6GB of RAM.
Other rumored specifications include, a dual-camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/2.0 aperture, and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor. For selfies, the Mi Max 3 can boast of an 8-megapixel shooter with AI Face Unlock. The Mi Max 3 Pro variant, is expected to have a higher resolution front camera (may be of 16-megapixel). The battery is tipped for a massive 5500mAh capacity with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. Along with Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box, the rear fingerprint sensor and an IR blaster is expected to remain standard in Mi Max 3.
