Soon after launching the Mi Max in China, Xiaomi is all set to bring the phablet to the Indian shores. The event is set to take place tomorrow in New Delhi at 11:30AM, which will also be live-streamed. Along with the Mi Max, Xiaomi is also set to launch global variant of MIUI 8, and we might see some region-specific content to cater the Indian audience. Xiaomi Mi Max specifications, features: One of the talking points of Mi Max phablet is the massive 6.44-inch full HD (1080p) display, slim metal unibody design and fingerprint scanner at the back. With thickness of 7.5mm, the handset weighs just 203g. Under the hood, the phablet is powered by Qualcomm s Snapdragon 650 chipset on the base 32GB storage + 3GB RAM variant. There are other two variants too 64GB storage + 3GB RAM and 128GB storage + 4GB RAM, both of which are powered by Snapdragon 652 chipset. In the photography department, the Mi Max is equipped with 16-megapixel rear camera with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. Up front is a 5-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling. Xiaomi has equipped the Mi Max with a 4,850mAh battery, which it claims is good enough to offer full day worth talktime. It also includes support for Qualcomm s Quick Charge.
With connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS and Wi-Fi, the phablet runs on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. While the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants are priced at approximately Rs 15,350, Rs 17,500 and Rs 20,500, respectively, details are Indian pricing aren t known yet.
The MIUI 8 ROM comes with redesigned interface and new features such as password and fingerprint lock on the Notes app, new Gallery app with filters, photo and video editing tools, advanced calculator and more. Also, according to a recent report, Xiaomi may also add Android N-like split screen multitasking feature in MIUI 8.
