Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S specifications, features
Much of what has been revealed is in line with the myriad of leaks we had come across in the run up to today s event. As far as design is concerned, the Mi MIX 2S looks largely like last year s Mi MIX 2. At least up front. At the back there is one big change, which is the vertically aligned dual-camera setup.
As far as specifications are concerned, the Mi MIX 2S flaunts a 5.99-inch full HD+ (2160 1080 pixels) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 845 SoC, which makes the smartphone the first in China to boast Qualcomm’s latest SoC. As Xiaomi has already revealed, the new smartphone scored an impressive 277,178 on AnTuTu. There is also an Adreno 630 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB internal storage.
For photography, the Mi MIX 2S features a dual-camera setup at the back. The setup includes a combination of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The camera’s features include AI-based scene detection, Portrait Mode, dual-pixel autofocus, 4-axis OIS, optical zoom, and hardware-level multi-frame noise reduction. The camera also features a Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and 1.4 m pixels that Xiaomi says lets in 25 percent more light. Xiaomi is really touting the smartphone’s photographic capabilities, and has revealed that the camera gets a DxOMark score of 101.
For selfies, there s a 5-megapixel snapper. As far as security is concerned, there’s a fingerprint sensor placed at the back. As is the case with new smartphones, the smartphone also supports face unlock feature.
On the software front, Xiaomi s new smartphone runs MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo. The Mi MIX 2 comes built-in with Xiaomi’s own new voice assistant called ‘Xiaol’, and also supports Google’s ARCore. Other connectivity options include NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, and 4G support.
Putting these specifications and features into context, last year s Mi MIX 2 was launched with a 5.99-inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 835 octa-core SoC, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. It also featured a 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a 3,400mAh battery.
