Even though Xiaomi s reputation in the mobile industry has been primarily built by its value-for-money budget and mid-range offerings, the bezel-less Mi MIX line-up has shown that the Chinese technology major can also make innovative smartphones, (almost) capable of rubbing shoulders with the best in the business. Launched earlier this year, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s carries forward the bezel-less design of its predecessors, while improving on the features. According to XDA Developers, both Chinese and Global beta ROMs of Android Pie are now available for the Mi MIX 2s. They also include security patches up to September. It s worth mentioning that both are recovery ROMs, so they must be manually flashed via a custom recovery such as TWRP.

The Mi MIX 2s has a 5.99-inch FullHD+ (1080×2160 pixels resolution) display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood is a Snapdragon 845 SoC, paired with 6/8GB of RAM and 64/128/256GB of internal storage.
For photography, the Mi MIX 2s features a dual-camera setup at the back. This includes a combination of 12-megapixel wide-angle lens and 12-megapixel telephoto lens. The camera s features include AI-based scene detection, Portrait Mode, dual-pixel autofocus, 4-axis OIS, optical zoom, and hardware-level multi-frame noise reduction. The camera also features a Sony IMX363 sensor, f/1.8 aperture, and 1.4 m pixels that Xiaomi says lets in 25-percent more light. For selfies, there s a 5-megapixel snapper.
As far as security is concerned, there s a fingerprint sensor placed at the back. As is the case with new smartphones, the Mi MIX 2s also supports face unlock feature.
