Lei Jun, the founder, chairman, and CEO for Xiaomi just took to his official handle on Chinese microblogging website Weibo to make an announcement. This announcement was regarding the camera software on the Mi 8 and Mi MIX 2S. Jun stated that Xiaomi will bring the camera software that is present on its recently announced flagship smartphone in the market, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, to the comparatively older Mi MIX 2S and the Mi 8. He went on to explain that the reason for this is because all three devices shared the same camera hardware. To showcase the difference between the software of all the three devices in question, Jun also added an image along with the DxOMark scores of all three devices at the launch. To recap, the Mi MIX 2S scored 97 in the DxOMark test at launch with 101 in photos and 88 in videos.

Xiaomi Mi 8, on the other hand, scored 99 on the test with 105 in images and 88 in video recording performance while the Mi MIX 3 came with a score of 103 with a 108 score for photos and 93 a score for video recording performance.
One thing to note here is that the DxOMark scores are not the final benchmark for the real-world performance of the camera but it does give us some idea on where the devices stand when compared to each other.
This new information comes around the time when Poco F1 is all set to receive the MIUI 10 update in this week.
