Interestingly, the bezel-less Xiaomi Mi MIX 2s also boasts a similar camera setup. Due to this similarity, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has said in a Weibo post that the cameras on the Mi MIX 2s will soon be as good as the Mi 8, Gizmochina reports. The company will soon be rolling out a firmware update for the Mi MIX 2s that solely focuses on upgrading the smartphone s cameras.
Not only does Xiaomi say it is among the best cameras out there, but even DxOMark says so. The camera benchmarking website gave the Mi 8 a score of 99. The smartphone was also able to achieve a photography score of 105. These high scores helps the Mi 8 pip some heavyweights like the Apple iPhone X, Google Pixel 2, Huawei P20 Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy S9+.
