Putting to rest the mystery around the launch of its upcoming flagship smartphone, Xiaomi has officially revealed the arrival of its Mi MIX 2S through a tweet. The much-rumored smartphone will add to the first batch of smartphones running the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC.
In a tweet through the official handle, Xiaomi teased the Mi MIX 2S with a cryptic ‘273741’ with Mi MIX 2S and Snapdragon 845 written below. In a separate post on Weibo, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun also confirmed that the smartphone will indeed be arriving on March 27, 2018, which basically means at MWC 2018, we won’t be getting a glimpse at the device.

Coming back to the cryptic ‘273741’, to recall, this was the AnTuTu score achieved by the Mi MIX 2S as revealed by past reports. As reported earlier, the AnTuTu score 273,741 of Mi MIX 2S is higher than the AnTuTu scores of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S9 and Sony Xperia XZ2.
In terms of specifications, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is expected to feature four-sided ceramic body with a full-screen display. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC is expected to run at a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz. It is likely to pack 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage.
For optics, it is likely to pack a dual-camera setup with a pair of 12-megapixel cameras with one featuring 2X optical zoom lens. Other features include in-screen fingerprint reader, which would make it one of the first smartphones to include such a biometric reader.
The Mi MIX 2s is also likely to borrow the ‘notch’ element from the Apple iPhone X. It is also expected that the phone will hop on to the current industry trend, and include some type of facial recognition technology for biometric authentication, which will be in addition to the fingerprint sensor. Past leaks claim that the Mi MIX 2s will cost around RMB 4,000 (approximately Rs 40,000) when launched.
