The much anticipated Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 has leaked out on the internet in what seems to be the first live image of the device. According to the leaked image, the Mi MIX 3 comes without a notch on the front of the device and instead packs an all screen display. The leaked image was first spotted on MySmartPrice which shows a person holding the device to showcase the near bezel-less design of the Mi MIX 3. The device does not come with any thick chin at the bottom of the device which is a significant improvement as compared to its predecessor, the Mi MIX 2S.
To recap, the company launched the Xiaomi Mi MAX 2S just 3 months back in March. The image suggests that MIX 3 is likely to drop the notch and be an all screen affair on the front. This is not the first time when we have seen an all-screen smartphone as other device makers have launched devices like the Vivo NEX and the OPPO Find X. We are not sure if Xiaomi will go the similar way as Vivo and OPPO went to introduce a motorized retractable front camera to get rid of the notch of the front.

According to the report, we can expect the MIX 3 to come with Snapdragon 845 along with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. We won’t be surprised to see Xiaomi push the envelope by launching a 512GB internal storage variant of the device. It is likely that Xiaomi will opt for a similar dual 12-megapixel camera setup for the MIX 3 that it launched with the recently launched Mi 8.
The company may add a 20-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and it may also add the under-display fingerprint sensor that Vivo launched with its X21. It is likely that the company may launch the device with a larger battery in comparison to the MIX 2S.
Xiaomi has not issued any official launch date for the upcoming device but it is possible that the company may launch the device “sometime in September” as pointed by the report. This timeline matches the launch date of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 last year. Considering that the company has not officially launched the MIX 2S in the Indian market, it is likely that the company may launch the MIX 3 in India as it did with the MIX 2.
