Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 finally has an official launch date and it is October 25. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed that the Mi Mix 3 will be unveiled at an event in Beijing on October 25. The confirmation came via a poster published by the company on Weibo, China’s micro-blogging platform. The confirmation finally puts an end to numerous leaks and rumors relating to the launch of the Mi MIX 3. The Mi MIX 3, as teased by Xiaomi’s Global Spokesperson and Director of Product Management, Donovan Sung, will borrow design elements of Oppo Find X and Vivo NEX this year. It is, like the Find X, expected to feature a slide-out camera module and thus enable a truly bezel-less design. The original Mi MIX was among the first device to feature a truly bezel-less design and with Mi MIX 3, the company is set to introduce a futuristic design. Sung recently shared two teaser images of the smartphone and one of the image confirmed that the Mi MIX 3 will arrive in four different colors. The implementation of moving parts has been a questionable choice and with Xiaomi adopting it, the question will be whether it succeeds in maintaining the price as well.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 3: Expected Price and Specifications
Under the hood, the Mi MIX 3 is expected to get the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, also powering company’s flagship Mi 8 smartphone. It will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and is expected to offer nearly 100 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also rumored to include an in-display fingerprint sensor instead of the traditional sensor seen on the back of the smartphone.
On the camera front, the Mi MIX 3 is likely to feature dual rear camera setup with a 16-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors. At the front, there will be a 20-megapixel selfie shooter with additional sensors for 3D facial recognition. It will run MIUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and is expected to support 18W fast charging.

The Chinese certification website, 3C, has listed four different models of the smartphone: M1810E5A, M1810E5E, M1810E5EC and M1810E5T. The leaks have claimed that the Mi MIX 3 might start at RMB 3,399 (around Rs 36,300) for the base variant with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage. The variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage could be priced at RMB 5,266 (around Rs 56,200).
