Xiaomi launched the Mi MIX 2s about three months back, which was essentially a slightly upgraded variant of the Mi MIX 2. Now, rumors and leaks around the next-generation Mi MIX 3 have surfaced online. If the recent leaks are anything to go by, the upcoming Mi MIX 3 is likely to be even more bezel-less than its predecessors. Just last week, we came across an alleged live photo of the Mi MIX 3 that showed a truly bezel-less smartphone. Now a set of leaked renders have surfaced online that show how Xiaomi is likely to make the Mi MIX 3 truly bezel-less. Alleged renders have surfaced on Weibo (spotted by ithome), and the design is in line with the leaked live photo. But what s interesting is how Xiaomi is seemingly taking inspiration from Vivo. Like the Vivo NEX, the upcoming Mi MIX 3 is also likely to boast a pop-up selfie camera. Earlier leaks have claimed that this maybe a 20-megapixel sensor. It is possible that Xiaomi may make use of its patent filed in 2015 for a LED-flash enabled selfie camera that can pop up.

Rumors have also hinted at an in-display fingerprint sensor, which is again inspired by Vivo s X21. Other rumored features include a Snapdragon 845 chipset, possibly 512GB internal storage, and a battery bigger than the one powering the Mi MIX 2s.
It is not beyond belief that Xiaomi will be working towards launching a new Mi MIX smartphone that will be even more bezel-less than before. But it is too soon to guess who Xiaomi takes inspiration from for the Mi MIX 3. After the Vivo NEX, Oppo launched the Find X, which too uses a pop-up mechanism to ensure a truly bezel-less smartphone.
While there is no word from Xiaomi, the Mi MIX 3 is widely expected to be launched sometime in September. This timeline is in line with the Mi MIX 2 s launch last year. It remains to be seen though if Xiaomi actually brings the next-generation Mi MIX smartphone to India.
