Rumors about Xiaomi’s much awaited phablet, Mi Note 2, have been doing the rounds over the past few months. Some of the key rumored features of the smartphone include a dual-edge curved display like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7, dual-camera setup and a 6GB RAM variant. According to recent rumors, the smartphone could finally be launched on September 14. Now, a new rumor from China suggests that the Mi Note 2 could launch as the Mi Pro. Besides a large screen, the Mi Note 2 aka Mi Pro is rumored to come with a glass back panel just like the Xiaomi Mi 5. Based on a few leaked images, the smartphone is likely to have the fingerprint scanner on the front and will also double as a fingerprint scanner. While the volume and power buttons are placed on the right edge, the bottom has USB Type-C port along with the speaker grille. The pictures also show the Mi Note 2 in three colors which are expected to be in White, Black and Pearl Powder.
Xiaomi Mi Note 2 specifications
Based on rumors so far, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is likely to feature a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440) super AMOLED dual-edge curved display. The Mi Note 2 is expected to be powered by a Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor clocked at 2.4GHz. The latest leak suggests that the Mi Note 2 will come in two variants, 4GB of RAM and 6GB of RAM. The storage options include 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. Interestingly, previous rumors and leaks had claimed that the Mi Note 2 could come with a 4GB RAM and 32GB storage option. But it appears Xiaomi is unlikely to do so.
For photography, we can expect the 16-megapixel dual-camera setup with DSLR-like blur effects and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. On the software front, the phablet is expected to run Android 7.0 based MIUI 8. The phablet is expected to be powered by a 4,000mAh battery and come with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
