Just days before Xiaomi’s big September 5 launch in India, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced another ‘big’ launch. Xiaomi took to Weibo to talk about an upcoming gadget that is expected to be announced today. Though the company did not give any hints as to the upcoming device, Xiaomi did confirm that it will be a smartphone and a major one. Rumors point at the Xiaomi Mi Note 3.
The rumored specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 hint at a smartphone with a large display with smaller bezels. The device is likely to come with a 2K display larger than 5.5-inches, as suggested in a report by Chinese site, MyDrivers. There will be more screen-to-body ratio though the exact display size has not been revealed. Initially, there were rumors that the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will debut the Snapdragon 836 chipset though it is the Google Pixel smartphones that are likely to have that honor. The Mi Note 3 will instead come with the Snapdragon 835 SoC.

The report also mentions that there are likely to be two variants of the smartphone – 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM. However, international markets might get just the 6GB RAM variant. There is no word on the internal storage, the battery or the smartphone camera. However, considering it is a flagship smartphone, it is likely that the Mi Note 3 will sport dual rear camera setup most likely with a 12-megapixel resolution and a high-resolution selfie shooter on the front. The smartphone will run on Android Nougat OS based on MIUI 9 out-of-the-box. There is no word on the pricing of the smartphone.
