It is no secret that Xiaomi is working on the successor to last year’s Mi Note 2. Dubbed Mi Note 3, it is expected to feature premium specifications and a massive battery when compared to the recently launched Mi 6. While previous leaks have hinted at some specifications, the latest rumor suggests that the Mi Note 3 will be the first smartphone to ship with MIUI 9 out-of-box when it launches sometime next month. Among the talking points of the the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will be the MIUI 9 onboard. It would be among the first Xiaomi devices to run on the latest UI out-of-the-box. MIUI 9 brings in lots of performance improvements and new features. Some of these include multi-window support, quick reply from notifications, optimized dose mode, RAM optimization, improved data saver, Always-on VPN, call screening feature, dual space feature and dual apps. As listed by xiaomitoday, the Mi Note 3 will feature a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) curved AMOLED display sourced from Samsung. Under the hood will be Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC, and it is expected to launch in two variants — 128GB variant with 6GB RAM, and 256GB variant with 8GB RAM. On the camera front, the smartphone is expected to feature dual-camera setup at the back, but the specifics of this setup is not known yet. Reports however claim that the camera performance on the Mi Note 3 will be on par with the flagship device, Mi 6. The dual-camera setup on the Mi 6 includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens. Apart from that, the Mi Note 3 is also said to house a 4,070mAh non-removable battery, which happens to be the same as what was on offer on the Mi Note 2. However with a Snapdragon 835 SoC on board, the upcoming smartphone is likely to support Qualcomm s Quick Charge 4.0 technology for fast charging.
Talking about the pricing, the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 is expected to retail at a price of $599 (Rs 38,800 approximately) for the base variant, and the premium variant is likely to be priced at $699 (Rs 45,300 approximately).
