Xiaomi Mi Note 3 with MIUI 9, Snapdragon 835 SoC, OLED display likely to launch next month

Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will launch as the successor to last year's Mi Note 2.

It is no secret that Xiaomi is working on the successor to last year’s Mi Note 2. Dubbed Mi Note 3, it is expected to feature premium specifications and a massive battery when compared to the recently launched Mi 6. While previous leaks have hinted at some specifications, the latest rumor suggests that the Mi Note 3 will be the first smartphone to ship with MIUI 9 out-of-box when it launches sometime next month.

Among the talking points of the the Xiaomi Mi Note 3 will be the MIUI 9 onboard. It would be among the first Xiaomi devices to run on the latest UI out-of-the-box. MIUI 9 brings in lots of performance improvements and new features. Some of these include multi-window support, quick reply from notifications, optimized dose mode, RAM optimization, improved data saver, Always-on VPN, call screening feature, dual space feature and dual apps. As listed by xiaomitoday, the Mi Note 3 will feature a 5.7-inch QHD (2560×1440 pixels) curved AMOLED display sourced from Samsung. Under the hood will be Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 SoC, and it is expected to launch in two variants — 128GB variant with 6GB RAM, and 256GB variant with 8GB RAM. On the camera front, the smartphone is expected to feature dual-camera setup at the back, but the specifics of this setup is not known yet. Reports however claim that the camera performance on the Mi Note 3 will be on par with the flagship device, Mi 6. The dual-camera setup on the Mi 6 includes a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens with 4-axis optical image stabilization (OIS), and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens.
