Xiaomi may be best known for its incredibly value-for-money smartphones, but the Chinese technology major also makes a whole lot of other gadgets, including everything from laptops to wireless routers. Recently, the company launched two new smartphones under the Mi 8 line-up. Along with the two, Xiaomi also launched a brand-new laptop – Mi Notebook Youth Edition.
Xiaomi’s Mi Notebook Youth Edition is a toned-down version of the company’s more-powerful Mi Notebook-branded laptops. It features a 15.6-inch FullHD display, and is powered by Intel’s eighth generation Core i5 processor. There’s also 8GB of RAM, as well as 2GB of dedicated MX110 graphics memory. This essentially means that the laptop is perfectly capable of handling some games, apart from the usual computing tasks.
Unsurprisingly, the Mi Notebook Youth Edition runs Windows 10. The OS runs off a 128GB SSD, which is complemented by a 1TB hard drive. There are dual 3W speakers, as well as a twin-fan cooling system thrown into the mix. Connectivity ports on the Mi Notebook Youth Edition include Ethernet (x1), HDMI (x1), USB 3.0 (x2), and 3.5mm audio (x1). There’s a built-in card reader too.
Xiaomi Mi Notebook Youth Edition has been priced at about RMB 4,599, which roughly translates to Rs 48,300. It’ll be available in two colours – black and white. As of now, there’s no word whether the laptop will be launched outside China or not.
