Xiaomi has quietly launched the Mi Pad 4 Plus, a larger version of the standard Mi Pad 4, which was launched in June. The new Mi Pad 4 Plus comes amidst decline in sales of tablet devices around the world. The Mi Pad 4 Plus comes with a larger display, faster chipset, and bigger battery when compared to the 8-inch tablet variant.

In terms of specifications, the Mi Pad 4 Plus features a 10.1-inch display with a WUXGA (1920×1200 pixels) resolution, and 16:10 aspect ratio. The display has 1000:1 contrast ratio and color density of 224ppi. Powering the device is Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 660 chipset, designed using the new efficient 14nm process.
The Snapdragon 660 is the chipset found on a number of smartphones in the mid-range segment, and it comes with four Kryo 260 cores clocked at 2.2GHz and four Kryo cores clocked at 1.8GHz alongwith Adreno 512 GPU. The tablet is offered with 4GB of RAM, and options for either 64GB or 128GB internal storage. It also supports expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
On the camera front, the Mi Pad 4 Plus features a 13-megapixel main camera with f/2.0 aperture, and Omnivision OV13855 image sensor. Up front, it sports a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture, and Samsung S5K5E8 sensor. The front camera can also be used for face unlock similar to the Redmi Y2 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The tablet measures 245.6×149.08×7.99 mm in dimensions, and weighs around 500 grams. It supports connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 4G LTE. It runs MIUI 9 based on Android 8.1 Oreo, and is backed by a large 8,620mAh battery.
The Mi Pad 4 Plus is priced at RMB 1,899 (around Rs 19,300) for the base model with 64GB storage, while the 128GB variant costs RMB 2,099 (around Rs 21,300). The tablet will be available for purchase in black and gold colors.
