On the occasion of World Music Day, Xiaomi has announced that is launching a new Bluetooth speaker called the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 in India. The portable speaker is currently available on the company’s website for a price of Rs 1,499.
Xiaomi has designed the Mi Pocket Speaker 2 in collaboration with a popular German brand called Tymphany. The speaker features a cylindrical design, which is made of polycarbonate and ABS materials. There is also an aluminum ring at the top, which has an anodized oxide coating to maintain a classy yet simple look. The speaker carries dimensions of 60x60x93.3mm and is available in black and white colors. While the speaker looks sturdy, we’re afraid it isn’t waterproof.
Mi Pocket Speaker 2 specifications and features
The cylindrical body houses a mono-speaker, which carries a maximum power output of 5 Watts. and an impedance that measures up to 4 ohms. It is also equipped with 1,200mAh Li-Polymer battery, which Xiaomi claims can last for 7 hours on continuous music playback. The speaker charges through a microUSB port which carries a power input of 5V/ 1A (5W).
The Mi Pocket Speaker 2 is equipped with Bluetooth 4.1, making it compatible with most smartphones, tablets and laptops. Xiaomi also claims it to have a wide coverage of up to 10 meters. You also get a built-in microphone, which allows you to adhere to incoming calls, right on the speaker.

The top-mounted aluminum ring carries all the controls for the speaker. This includes Power and Bluetooth button. On the other hand, the volume can be controlled by simply spinning the ring.
