Xiaomi recently announced the Mi Power Bank 2 along with Mi Wi-Fi Repeater 2 (Wi-Fi signal expander) and Mi Bluetooth Speaker Mini. All the three devices were announced quietly by Xiaomi India and listed on the Mi India website early last June. While the latter two are Mi India exclusive devices, Xiaomi had announced that the Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2 would be available over e-commerce portals in the country though no specific timeline was suggested. Nearly a month post the original launch, the power bank will up for sale on e-commerce portals in the country starting tomorrow. Xiaomi India sent out a tweet regarding the availability of the Mi Power Bank 2 on the e-commerce portals. Initially, the power bank was expected to be available only on Flipkart and Amazon India. However, the device will be available on even TataCliq, as the tweet suggests. The sale for the power bank will begin at 12PM. There is no clarity on whether it will be a flash sale or will the device be available for a longer duration. Also, there is no word on stock or by when will the power bank begin shipping once the orders are placed. Meanwhile, the power bank is already up for sale on the Mi India website. Xiaomi has announced two variants of the power bank in India. One is the 10,000mAh variant which is available in black and the second is a 20,000mAh variant which comes in the white color option. Both the variants will be up for sale on the e-commerce portal starting tomorrow. Mi Power Bank 2 is priced at Rs 1,199 for the base 10,000mAh variant and Rs 2,199 for the more advanced and larger 20,000mAh variant. However, the Twitter lsiting does not mention these prices so Xiaomi could have some surprises or discounts in store for buyers. Coming to the specifications, both the power banks come with a similar design and structure. The devices come in a rectangular boxed shape and are portable. The basic 10,000mAh power bank comes with two-way fast charging technology whereas the larger 20,000mAh one supports two-way fast charge as well as dual USB output ports. Both the devices come with the option to low-power charge devices.
Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2 takes 6.2 hours to completely charge (for the larger 20,000mAh version) on a fast OEM charger whereas, on slow charge, the device can take up to 10 hours to reach full charge and 4.2 hours to charge (smaller, 10,000mAh charger) on 18W charger and up to 6.2 hours on a slower 10W charger. The 10,000mAh power bank 2 is 14.1mm thin whereas the 20,000mAh power bank 2 is 23.9mm thin. Both the portable charges are approved by airlines (as stated on Mi India) and can be carried even during flight journeys.
