Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2i, the power bank made by the company locally in India, could soon be available on Amazon India and Flipkart, according to a now-deleted tweet by the company. The details about availability were tweeted by the company today but the tweet is no longer live at the time of writing. Xiaomi launched the Mi Power Bank 2i in November last year and it is available in two models – 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh battery capacity. The letter “i” in the name of the power bank stands denotes it has been designed as part of company’s “Make In India” effort. The Mi Power Bank 2i is manufactured at Xiaomi’s new factory in Noida and it is the first accessory from the company to be locally assembled here. The 10,000 Mi Power Bank 2i features an anodized aluminum alloy case which Xiaomi claims can withstand collisions and impacts, and even resist sweat and daily wear. The powerbank comes with dual-USB outputs but lacks Quick Charge support. It has a maximum capacity of 10,000mAh but the actual output has been throttled down to 6,500mAh in order to increase its recharge cycle.
The 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i, on the other hand, also comes with dual-USB ports and one of the port supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. When only a single port is used for charging, the Mi Power Bank 2i will initiate Quick Charge 3.0, provided the smartphone also supports it. The power bank can intelligently adjust power distribution when it is used to charge two devices simultaneously.
The Xiaomi Mi Power Bank 2i can also charge low-power devices such as Bluetooth headsets and fitness bands. The feature needs to be enabled by double-pressing the power button, and the power banks are available in black or white color option. The power banks have been available only on Mi.com/in so far but its availability on platforms such as Amazon India and Flipkart will give it a wider audience. The Mi Power Bank 2i is priced at Rs 799 for the 10,000mAh variant and Rs 1,499 for the 20,000mAh variant.
Xiaomi also sells the older Mi Power Bank Pro with 10,000mAh battery capacity. We could not find the Mi Power Bank 2i on sale on either Amazon India or Flipkart at the time of writing, but we do expect them to be available on both e-commerce platforms soon. Xiaomi recently opened its Mi Home Experience Store in Chennai where it showcases all the devices made by the company including ones not sold in India.
