In light of the GST (Goods and Services Tax) reduction, Xiaomi has reduced the price of its ‘Made in India’ Mi Power Bank 2i. The 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i are now available for Rs 799 and Rs 1,499 respectively. Xiaomi had launched these two power banks in November last year at these prices, however, the company had increased the price of these by Rs 100 in April.
Earlier, these 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i were retailing for Rs 899 and Rs 1,599, respectively. Xiaomi has also reduced the price of 10,000mAh Mi Power Bank Pro. It has been reduced by Rs 200, so it will not retail for Rs 1,299, down from Rs 1,499.
The Government of India has reduced the GST on Lithium-ion batteries used in power banks by 10 percent, from 28 percent to 18 percent w.e.f July 27. Xiaomi on its blog noted that it is passing on the benefit to the consumer starting today at 12 noon. You can buy these power banks at revised prices through mi.com.
Last time around, Xiaomi had said that the of Rs 100 was done due to change in tax structure. “Due to the change in tax structure, we’ve had to marginally revise prices for our Mi Power Bank 2i series. This was done to ensure that Mi Power Bank 2i is still the high-quality product that buyers have come to expect from Xiaomi,” Xiaomi India spokesperson said in April.
