Xiaomi just launched the fourth generation of its router – Mi Router 4. Based on its official introduction, the router is also dubbed as “fiber-level full-gigabit smart router.” It’s only available in China at the moment, and is priced at RMB 199 (approximately Rs 2,100).
The router features a flat-rounded design, which comes in white color. It has one LED indicator at the front to notify the signal strength. The router sports four omnidirectional antennas and uses a large area of aluminum-magnesium alloy heat sink with a high thermal conductivity thermal paste. There are cooling holes at the bottom that are designed to facilitate better heat flow.
Mi Router 4 specifications and features
The Mi Router 4 features dual-band Wi-Fi and is said to features peak speeds of 1167Mbps. It comes with an MT7621A MIPS dual-core chipset, coupled with 128GB of RAM and 128GB flash memory. At the back, there is one Gigabit WAN port and two Gigabit LAN ports. The router can connect to 128 devices. It also features support for MiNET, which allows it to connect with smart devices, just by clicking a button. It helps avoid the hassle of putting in a password, when setting up a new smart device around the house.

The router comes with its own app called the Xiaomi Router app. Besides just configuring the router, it can also be used to enable a few features. The app gives access to one-button speed measurement, WiFi optimization, flood prevention network and a few more optimization features. For security, the router comes equipped with WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK encryption, wireless access control (blacklisting and whitelisting), SSID hiding, intrusion detection, DoS protection, access control manager, and SSID isolation.
