Xiaomi launched its Mi TV 4 series of smart TVs in India back in March. Like Xiaomi smartphones, the TVs are also designed to offer premium features at an affordable price point. While it all sounds good, Xiaomi has only made the TVs available exclusively through Flipkart, which in a way has restricted their reach. Now however, ET suggests that the company plans to start selling its TVs via brick-and-mortar multi-brand stores by Diwali, in order to get a larger slice of the market share in India.

A company spokesperson was quoted by the website stating, “Xiaomi India is definitely looking at offering more innovative line-up of products for its Mi Fans and customers across India to truly enjoy the best of smart technology at an honest pricing.”

Currently Xiaomi’s smart TV lineup is divided in two categories, the Mi TV 4 which carries a 55-inch variant, and the Mi TV 4A, which carries 32-inch and 43-inch variants. By bringing the three TVs to multi-brand stores, the company plans to offer innovative set of features at an affordable price, to a wider set of audience across the country.

Not to mention, having access to these TVs in stores will also help customers experience their features firsthand, which will help remove any doubts about the brand. Further, the competition being brought in by Xiaomi might also prompt other manufactures to cut down on prices to better compete with its low pricing.
