On February 14, Xiaomi debuted the Mi TV 4 in the Indian market, followed by the launch of the Mi TV 4A a few weeks later. Today both the televisions will be going up on sale, with the availability kicking off starting 12:00PM. The sale will be taking place on Flipkart and mi.com.
The Mi TV 4 comes in one model, which is a 55-inch ones, that is priced at Rs 39,999. The Mi TV 4A, on the other hand, comes in two variants, a 32-inch model, which is priced at Rs 13,999 and a 43-inch one, which will retail at Rs 22,999. Xiaomi is offering free installation service with the purchase of these smart LED TVs.
Similar to the craze many Xiaomi phones have, the Mi TVs have become very difficult to get hands on. In the last few sales, the Mi TVs ran out of stock within seconds of sale initiating. Therefore, if you are planning to buy these smart TVs from Xiaomi then it is advisable that you keep your account logged in on either Flipkart or Xiaomi’s own e-store before 12:00PM. It is also recommended to keep your credit or debit card details saved on the platform, and CVV ready for quick checkout once you manage to add the device to your cart.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4 Specifications and Price
The Mi TV 4 is touted as the slimmest TV, with its edge measuring 4.9mm thin. It features a 55-inch 4K HDR display with refresh rate of 60Hz and 178-degree viewing angle, and is powered by a quad-core Amlogic CPU with four Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.8GHz. The Mi TV 4 includes 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, and it weighs around 17.2kg without the base and around 17.8kg including the base.
The Mi TV 4 comes with one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, three HDMI, one RJ-45 Ethernet port, one AV and S/PDIF ports. It also supports connectivity options like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4A Specifications and Price
The Mi TV 4A, on the other hand, come in two variants – 32-inch model with HD ready display, and a 43-inch model with 1080p display. Both the models are powered by quad-core Cortex A53 CPU, and come with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage.
The 32-inch model comes with two USB port while the 43-inch model offers three USB port. Both models offer three HDMI port, Ethernet port, earphone out and AV port. They also support Wi-Fi, but lack Bluetooth connectivity option. The 32-inch model weighs around 4kg and the 43-inch model weighs around 7.5kg. They both offer dual 10W speaker.
Beside the price point, the highlight of Xiaomi’s new Smart TVs is the UI, which is called PatchWall. The interface brings content from different sources into a single unified layout, and uses a tiled geography that helps distinguish the content. Xiaomi has also unified the remote to use the TV that comes bundled with the TV to control both TV and the set-top box.
