Xiaomi has launched a new 50-inch Mi TV as part of its Mi TV 4A series. The new TV is the sixth addition to the lineup, which was first introduced at CES last year. The lineup already has five variants with screen sizes varying from 32-inch to 65-inches. The new 50-inch Mi TV 4A comes with several new features including support for voice commands and machine learning. The TV sports a 50-inch ultra high definition (UHD) display with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. The display supports 60Hz refresh rate along with HDR 10 + HLG and has a dynamic response time of 8 milliseconds. The Mi TV 4A features a frameless design and offers an integrated Mi TV bar that incorporates 10 speakers, two wireless rear satellite speakers, and a subwoofer. The Mi TV 4A also supports Dolby Atmos, which helps in spatial audio experience with two upward firing speakers, and Xiaomi claims it will sound more like 3D audio. The TV is powered by a 64-bit quad-core mlogic chipset coupled with 2GB RAM and 8GB memory. It also includes smart features like voice function via a Bluetooth Remote and a UI called PatchWall that relies on artificial intelligence to offer recommendations. Xiaomi’s PatchWall is a UI layer built on top of Android and uses machine learning to curate content based on viewing habits.
The Mi TV 4A supports WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2 and offers three HDMI ports, one AV port, two USB ports and one Ethernet jack. The TV is priced at 2,399 Yuan (approximately Rs 24,000) and will only be available in China. Xiaomi is reportedly planning to expand its product portfolio in India and is expected to introduce Mi TV series soon.
Xiaomi Mi TV 4A will be available for pre-order starting January 19 and will go on sale from January 23. Xiaomi also sells Mi TV 4, a modular TV that is thinner than iPhone as an update to the Mi TV 4A series in China.
