Xiaomi has come up with a new downsized version of its Mi TV 2 that features a 40-inch FHD display. The company had been teasing the TV from past one week and it has finally pulled the wraps from the Mi TV 2. The new version costs $320 (approximately Rs 19,000), which will make it one of the most affordable full-HD smart TVs in the market. Unfortunately, you can’t buy it anytime soon.Specification wise the Mi TV 2 features a Sharp SDP X- GEN LED backlit panel with a 5,000:1 contrast ratio. The TV draws power from a MStar 6A908 SoC which includes quad-core Cortex A9 CPU. The graphics department is managed by Mali 450 M4 GPU and the audio is taken care by Dolby MS12 virtual surround sound technology. The TV supports playback for a major chunk of formats including MKV, MP4, MOV, TS and AVI. On the software end, the Mi TV 2 runs on Android 4.4 wrapped under MIUI and an Android 5.0 update is on the cards as well. As of now there is no word on the availability of the TV outside the Chinese markets. However if recent reports are anything to go by, Xiaomi is planning on bringing the TV to India soon.
