After announcing the Mi Electric Scooter, Xiaomi has now launched a successor to its Wi-Fi amplifier, called the Xiaomi Wi-Fi Amplifier 2. The device is priced at 49 RMB, which is approximately Rs 480. The Xiaomi Wi-Fi Amplifier 2 has a built-in PCB antenna, which is claimed to double the signal strength than its predecessor. It will start selling from December 15 in Xiaomi’s home country China. The Xiaomi Wi-Fi Amplifier 2 features the same compact design as its predecessor. All that one needs to do is plug in the amplifier to the USB port of a router and it automatically syncs with the device to offer better coverage in a given area. The Xiaomi Wi-Fi Amplifier 2 is also compatible with third-party routers. The latest amplifier boasts a transmission rate of 300Mbps and is capable of handling connections from up to 16 devices which are connected simultaneously. The company has launched a new Mi Electric Scooter this week, which comes with a unique foldable design. Highlight of the electric scooter is that it is foldable at the press of a button. According to Xiaomi, it takes just three seconds to fold the scooter, making it easy to store or carry. In terms of design, the scooter features 1.1W high-brightness LED front light which can illuminate path about six meters away, a bright red warning light, along with four LED power indicators. It is capable of achieving a top speed of 25km/h. The electric scooter is currently available in China in two color choices of black and white. It has been priced at RMB 1,999 (Rs 19,500 approximately). On the other hand, adding to the 8H Latex product line, Xiaomi also launched a new spring mattress which isn t really a smart product, but one that falls in line with products such as the Mi Pen and the Mi Umbrella. In the smart products category, Xiaomi recently launched a pebble-size smart sensor device, called the Lunar smart sleep sensor. The sleep monitor intelligently analyzes a user s sleep duration and quality, and sends out periodic sleep reports through the mobile app. In the past, Xiaomi has also launched an Internet Speaker, 8H Multifunction Pillow U1, Airwear Mask, a Toy Block programmable robot, and many such other products. Xiaomi intends to differ from its by moving further from being just a mobile maker and building a products ecosystem that cater to other consumer needs.
