Xiaomi is rumored to soon launch its first affordable full-screen smartphone. Now reports suggest that Xiaomi will be launching not one, but three devices with edge-to-edge displays. The smartphones are expected to be the Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus, and the Redmi Note 5. While all the three phones will have an 18:9 aspect ratio, they are likely to differ in screen size and internal configuration. The Redmi 5 is expected to flaunt a 5.5-inch HD display, while the Redmi Note 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are expected to carry 5.9-inches full HD displays, Gizmochina reports. The Redmi 5 is said to feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, while the Plus variant is said to feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Redmi Note 5 Plus will most likely have a 3GB RAM and 32GB onboard storage. In terms of processor, the Redmi 5, 5 Plus and Redmi Note 5 are expected to be powered by Helio P25 SoC. Previous leaks also reveal that the Redmi 5 16GB and 32GB variants are likely to come in gold and black colors, whereas the Redmi 5 Plus will come gold, black, and grey options.
While other details are unclear, a recent TENAA listing suggested that the Redmi Note 5 will sport a pair of 16-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors at the rear. Up front, the Redmi Note 5 is said to come with a 12-megapixel sensor.
In terms of pricing, the smartphone is expected to cost RMB 999 (Rs 9,800 approximately), whereas the bigger storage variant is expected to retail between RMB 1,299 and RMB 1,699 (Rs 12,800 – Rs 16,700 approximately).
