Xiaomi has added another action camera to its MIJIA portfolio. Akin to a number of MiJia products, the latest 4K action camera is exclusive to the Chinese market and priced at RMB 699 (approximately Rs 6,800). It is unclear if the action camera will make it to the Indian market. The action camera features 4K-video recording and 6-axis stabilization for enhanced control irrespective of which sports activity or adventure you are filming. The stabilization is essentially through 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer which uses real-time data to ensure the final output is steady. The camera is just about 99 grams light, measuring 71.5×42.7×29.5mm. There is a 2.4-inch touch screen on the camera to help you easily preview shots, play video, etc. without the need to transfer for review of footage. For performance, the camera packs Amarella A12S75 processor which is said to aid in 3D motion noise reduction and lens distortion correction control. Coming to the optic prowess, the camera features a Sony IMX317 camera sensor with f/2.8 aperture, 3.2 mm focal length and a 145-degree wide lens. It is capable of shooting 4K photos as well as 4K videos at 30 fps, and 1080p videos at 60 fps. For connectivity, the camera packs Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, and microSD card support for up to 64GB storage.
On the software front, the camera offers a range of options while recording or capturing, including delay camera, slow motion, time-lapse shooting, high-speed shooting, in addition to nine other modes. While specific details related to the battery are unknown, it is said to allow the camera to shoot up to two-hours of 4K video or up to three hours of 1080p video. The latest action camera launch follows Xiaomi’s recent launch of 1080p PTZ home security camera. The smart security camera doubles up as a webcam. For the optics, it has a camera sensor with f/2.3 aperture, a viewing angle of 120-degrees viewing angle. It can also rotate up to 93-degree vertically. Priced at RMB 149 (approximately Rs 1,500), the smart security camera is also limited to China markets for now.
