Adding to its non-smartphone portfolio, Xiaomi today introduced a new MiTU Quadcopter that is lightweight and capable of recording 720p videos. MiTU is Xiaomi’s sub-brand focused on manufacturing toys, and the new MiTU radio-controlled UAV also resembles a toy quadcopter. The drone features four motors, and comes with a remote control for precision. It also offers First person view (FPV). As GizmoChina reports, the MiTU weighs just 88 grams, and is crafted of modified PP plastic with low density and high toughness to make it resistant to falling. The camera on the drone is capable of capturing aerial images at 1600×1200 pixels resolution, and videos in HD. Powering the drone is quad-core 1.2GHz SoC, which is paired with 4GB of RAM. The onboard sensors include ultrasonics, barometers, and optical flow sensors.
It further features precision hovers that allow the drone to fly steadily and smoothly in indoor environments. In addition, it also has a headless mode, gravity sensing, palm take off, four-way rolling and other advanced modes along with a large bandwidth, low delay, anti-interference ability 5.8GHz high-frequency signal Wi-Fi.

The pocket-size drone is capable of flying at a maximum height of 25 metres, while the remote control support is up to a distance of 50 meters. The built-in 920mAh battery is claimed to provide support for 10 minutes of flying or recording.
The Xiaomi MiTU Quadcopter is priced at RMB 399 (approximately Rs 4,200). It will be up for grabs starting tomorrow, however, it won’t be available for purchase in India anytime soon.
