Xiaomi MIUI 12, the next version of Chinese smartphone maker’s custom software, is expected to debut soon. The company has already ceased development of MIUI 11 beta ROM to pave way for the next version. The updated software, which has been in the works since January, has no official release date just yet. The Chinese smartphone maker has also not confirmed the commencement of the beta test. Xiaomi MIUI 12: List of supported devices
A leaked list confirms the names of devices that will get MIUI 12 in China. Most of these devices should receive the update in other markets as well. The models listed include the new flagship models – the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro. There is also confirmation that Mi 9, Mi 9 SE and Mi 9 Pro will get this update. Other models in the Mi lineup getting the update include the Mi 8, the discontinued Mi CC9 Pro, Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e. The list also hints at Redmi smartphones that will get the MIUI 12 update. It shows that the flagship Redmi K30 series will be amongst the first to get the update. The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro have also been listed to get the update. Other Redmi models slated to receive MIUI 12 include the Redmi 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 7 Pro, Redmi Note 7, Redmi 8, Redmi 8A, Redmi 7 and the Redmi 7A. There is no word on when these devices will get MIUI 12 beta update. However, it would be safe to assume that it will start with flagship Mi 10 series and Redmi K30 series. We should see an official timeline for the roll out beta release for select devices in the coming weeks. As with any leak, we recommend to take this with a grain of salt. Xiaomi has stumbled with software updates due to the coronavirus outbreak. The leaks so far suggest that MIUI 12 will bring major changes to Xiaomi‘s custom skin.
