Xiaomi opens its first Mi Home Experience Store in India to showcase ecosystem products that you can't buy yet

Unfortunately, most of the cool things on display in the store can't be bought just yet.

Xiaomi has opened its first Mi Home Experience Store in India, where it will showcase its ecosystem and out-of-the-box products. The store is located at Phoenix Market City in Chennai, and commences operations on March 1. Unfortunately though, many of the unique products being showcased aren’t actually on sale. Some of the interesting Xiaomi and Xiaomi-backed products at the store include the Mi Electric Scooter, the Ninebot Plus, Xiaomi Windows laptops, Xiaomi luggage, an electric smart rice cooker, smart sneakers, and much more. While you may be able to buy them, you can buy all regular products on sale in India at the store. These include Xiaomi’s range of smartphones, accessories, and the recently launched Mi TV 4. We spoke to Xiaomi India MD Manu Kumar Jain about the story behind the store. “We’ve opened this experience store to give Xiaomi fans a chance to experience some of our cooler products that are typically only available in China. We do hope to gather feedback on what our fans want and eventually launch many of these products in India.” So while it is sad that these products aren’t on sale yet, Xiaomi fans can hope for that to happen eventually.

Xiaomi also intends to launch more such Experience Stores in other parts of India, letting fans and buyers use and get a feel of Xiaomi’s products. It will be particularly useful for buyers interested in the new Mi TV 4, as they’ll get a chance to try out the TV at the store.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 5, Redmi Note 5 Pro, and Mi TV 4. Apart from offline sales through Mi Home stores and authorized resellers, these products are also on sale online through, and Flipkart.
