Even as we near the end of 2016, Xiaomi has continued to launch new products, one after another. The latest product from the house of Xiaomi is in-ear headphones under its Piston series. Called the Piston Fresh, the headphones are available in five different color options — black, silver, blue, purple and pink. It comes with a price tag of RMB 29, which is Rs 300 approximately. Right now, there s no word on when or whether these earphones will be launched in markets outside China. One of the highlights of the headphones is the aluminum chambers with an improved dampening system. As reported by GizmoChina, the Piston Fresh comes with metal chambers, which is made of anodized aluminum alloy. The chambers are also scratch-resistant and anti-fingerprint. The tips come with silicon earbuds, which are available in small and large sizes. As far as the dampening system goes, it supposedly allows separate airflow for the front and rear chambers, which ultimately helps deliver better tri-band performance. It also has an in-line control which is comprised of a microphone and a dedicated button that can be used for answering and ending calls along with play and pause music.
The Mi Piston Fresh joins the Piston Pro and Piston Pro HD headphones, which were launched in China in the last couple of months. While the Piston Fresh is aimed at entry-level headphones category, the Piston Pro and Piston Pro HD are priced around Rs 1,500 and Rs 2,730 respectively.
Similar to the Piston Fresh s design, the Piston Pro comes with a sound chamber made from CNC diamond-cut aluminum along with an anodized surface. The device also has a CD pattern engraved design fine detailed grains (concentric circles) for premium look and feel. The highlight of the Piston Pro HD is a hybrid dual dynamic and balanced armature drivers, which is supposed to deliver with finer details.
The Piston Fresh also joins a long list of new devices that have been launched by Xiaomi in the last couple of weeks. Just this month, the company has launched a new powerbank with 20,000mAh battery capacity, Wi-Fi amplifier and Yeelight LED Lamp with IP60 dust resistance. Moreover, the company seems like it isn t done as yet. Already, it has teased the launch of a new portable car air purifier. According to reports, the purifier, dubbed as Mi portable Air, will come with a large CADR ratio (clean air output ratio).
Earlier this week, Xiaomi teased a new laptop, believed to be the Mi Notebook Air successor. Expected to be launched today, the laptop is likely to come with 4G LTE connectivity and a starting price of RMB 6,000 (Rs 58,600 approximately).
