Poco F1, the first smartphone from Xiaomi sub-brand Poco has been considered a fresh breath of air in the stagnating smartphone industry. The primary reason for this is because the Poco F1 managed to bring flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC down to around Rs 20,000. This does not really cover the compromises that Poco made to bring the pricing to such a drastic low, but it does tell what can be done with devices in the increasingly boring smartphone industry.

The device has received a good amount of attention from customers, and the Poco team been actively taking suggestions and feedback to improve the user experience with updates. Regarding the software of the device, one thing to notice was that it did not launch with the latest MIUI 10 and instead, the company launched the device with MIUI 9.6 with Poco Launcher. According to the latest announcement from the software team though, the device is all set to get the much-awaited MIUI 10 update this week.

The announcement came as part of the “Latest Feedbacks” for the device where the software team updates Poco F1 users about issues and user feedback. As part of the post, the team has updated Poco Launcher to include custom app icon size, grid, and dark mode. The update is set to roll out this week on Google Play Store.

The Poco team is also working with Gameloft to fix the incompatibility issue for Asphalt 8: Airborne and Asphalt 9: Legends. The team also worked with PUBG Corp to fix the notch-covering issue in PUBG Mobile, and it will be fixed soon. In addition to that, the team is also working with Qualcomm and Google to fix the lack of Widevine L1 certification that stops the device from streaming HD video on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and other video streaming apps. The team is expected to roll out the fix in a beta update by the end of the year.

Other features that the software team is working on include the addition of 4K video recording at 60FPS, lack of app icons in the status bar, issues with “OK Google”, battery percentage indicator, and delay in registering touch and typing input.
