The Xiaomi Poco F1 has been a popular device for many reasons, the biggest of which is its strong pricing. The device recently received a permanent price cut, and is now available with a price tag starting from Rs 19,999, making it the most affordable phone with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset by far. There’s now more good news for Xiaomi fans and users of the phone, as the Poco F1 is reportedly receiving the stable Android 9 Pie software update.
Under normal circumstances, you can wait for the update notification to pop up on your phone, which it will in due time. The update is being rolled out gradually, so it will take a few days to reach all users of the phone. However, you can also download the OTA file from miui.com, and sideload the package onto your phone, to manually install it. The update brings the phone onto Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.1.3.0 and the Poco Launcher on top, and is a fully stable update available to all users.
Other changes in the update include the November security patch, Google Lens integration in the camera and other fixes. The update finally fulfills a big promise made by the Poco team at launch, and adds further value and confidence to the idea that Xiaomi and Poco will offer continuing software support for the Poco F1. This is a department where brands such as OnePlus and Huawei and currently leading, and Xiaomi hopes to cement its reputation in this regard.

The Xiaomi Poco F1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC, and comes with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. You get a dual-camera setup at the back, along with a 20-megapixel front camera. The device allows IR-powered face unlock, making it possible to use the function even in the dark.
